Wildflowers of Kendall County Most of the pictures on this site were taken in our Kendall County Forest Preserves. It is our sincere hope that this site will help you identify and learn more about our native plants here in Kendall County. We hope to inspire further exploring and appreciation of this natural heritage, to raise awareness of threats such as invasive species, and to inspire you to volunteer in helping restore and preserve our natural areas. This site is structured as a field guide to help identify plants found in the wild. The links below are to index pages, either by common name, by scientific name, or by bloom color and blooming period which you may click/tap to browse. These
webpages are currently edited by Kenneth Mozingo, Master Naturalist and
Kendall County Forest Preserves Volunteer, with advisor David Guritz. There are no guarantees that the information here
is 100% correct, but we do our best to prevent inaccuracies. If you do find
any errors in the plant information or identification, please contact us. And
we would especially like to know about (with pictures and bloom and plant
details) any Kendall County plant you find out there that is not included in
this website. Click here for acknowledgments and references. Index to plants sorted by common name. Index to plants sorted by scientific name.
