The elegant native New England Aster is common in our area. It prefers full or partial sun and moist to average conditions. Habitats include moist prairies, meadows and waysides. This perennial grows up to 4' tall with a hairy central stem branching occasionally near the top. The alternate lance-shaped stem-clasping leaves are up to 4" long and 1" wide.
