The native Common Water Horehound is common in our area. It prefers partial to full sun and wet to moist conditions such as wet prairies, wetlands and fens. This small perennial is 1-3' tall, usually unbranched, with an erect square central stem with pairs of opposite deeply-toothed leaves about 2-4" long and ½-1½" wide. Dense clusters of tiny white mint blossoms are whorled around the central stem at the leaf axils
