Ditch Stonecrop
Penthorum sedoides   [C-value 5]
Ditch Stonecrop family (Penthoraceae)
Blooms mid-June - September

The native Ditch Stonecrop is not common in our area. It prefers partial to full sun, wet conditions, and a mucky soil that retains moisture. This perenniall is 1-2' tall and either unbranched or branching occasionally in the upper half. The alternate leaves are up to 4" long and 1" across, lance-shaped and finely toothed with prominent midveins. The upper stems terminate in cymes of flowers that are about 1-3" across. Each cyme has 2-4 flowering stalks that spread outward with the flowers aligned along the upper sides. Each yellowish green to white flower is about ¼" across.
