The non-native (European) Evening Campion is common in our area. It prefers full or partial sun and a slightly moist fertile loamy soil. It  is an annual or biennial about 2' tall, branching occasionally and more or less erect. The opposite leaves are up to 4" long and 2¼" across. The upper stems terminate in clusters of one or more night-blooming flowers. Each flower is about ¾–1" across when fully open, consisting of 5 white petals that are partially cleft.
