Tall Bur-Marigold
(Crowned Beggarticks) The native Tall Bur-Marigold is common in our area. It prefers full or partial sun and wet conditions. Habitats include good marshes and fens. This annual or biennial is 2–5' tall, branching sparingly, with opposite dark green odd-pinnate compound leaves with 5 or 7 leaflets that are lance-shaped and sharply toothed. The upper stems terminate in shining golden yellow flowers 1½–2½" across with 6-19 bright yellow ray florets surrounding numerous yellow disk florets.
