The non-native (Eurasia) Wild Mustard is common in our area. It prefers full sun and a medium-moist loamy soil. Habitats include grain fields, areas along railroads, vacant lots and other waste areas. This annual is 1-3' tall and branching occasionally with hairy stems. The alternate leaves are up to 6" long and 2" across, becoming smaller as they ascend the stems. The upper leaves are coarsely toothed and  wavy. The upper stems terminate in racemes of yellow flowers. Each flower is about ½" across with 4 yellow petals.
